Speed up delayed transactions

Blockchain transactions can sometimes get stuck due to low gas fees, creating a pile of subsequent transactions that depend on the stuck one.

You can speed up a pending transaction by increasing the gas fee and resending the transaction on blockchain. The “Speed up” feature uses the replace-by-fee (RBF) method to replace the existing fee with a higher fee and resubmit the transaction on blockchain.

This feature is available in the Vaults user interface for MPC mobile wallets and multisig wallets. It supports MPC wallets on both Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC) chains, and multisig wallets on the Bitcoin (BTC) chain.

Note: In case of a multisig wallet, any signer from the signing team can speed up a pending transaction in Vaults. For MPC wallets, any initiator from the initiating team of the wallet can use this feature.

To speed up a stuck transaction, take the following steps.

  1. Log into Vaults.
  2. Under Pending Actions, locate your pending transaction with ETH or BTC chains that you want to speed up.
  3. Select Speed up for the corresponding transaction.

  1. Select Proceed.

Note: The system automatically inputs the fee amount at 10% higher rate than the current market fee. If you want to resend the transaction with the auto-set fee, sign the transaction to confirm.

  1. To manually reset the fee, select the Manually adjust fee box. Then enter your desired fee amount per gas unit (Sats/Byte) in the field under Fee.
  2. Select Sign to confirm the transaction.

Important: For Ethereum chains, you get the following options to adjust the fee:
Base Fee: The base fee is a minimum fee per gas unit (Gwei) required for a transaction to be included in a block.
Priority Fee: It is an additional amount that you can pay to encourage miners to prioritize your transaction.

Wait for the other quorum of signers to approve the transaction. Once approved, your transaction is resubmitted in blockchain.

On your Home page, your new transaction will appear as a parent transaction. When you expand this parent transaction, you can view your original transaction.

You can resend a transaction multiple times to meet your urgent requirements.
